Swimming lessons at the YMCA are being offered this summer for kids ages 3-14. Cost of the session is $29.00 with 1/2 being paid by the Max Civic Club if you are a member. The lessons are June 9-13 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. The bus will leave from the school at 12:50 and return at 3:45. Please return to the school office the registration form your child brought home from school or call Lynae Schroeder at 679-2505 by May 21 to get registered.

In the Max School Commons area this Sunday, May 18th, from 2-4 is the retirement open house for Joyce Malling. Joyce has taught school for 31 years. Our congratulations to you, Joyce, and Happy Retirement!

The Max School Pops Concert is this evening, Thursday, May 15th at 7:30. The Max School Kindergarten graduation will be held on Wednesday of next week, May 21st at 10 a.m. Congratulations little graduates! Over 55 Club's May potluck will be Friday, May 23rd at 6 p.m.

Shifu Martin is looking for new members who are interested in learning karate. Kids ages 5 and up as well as adults are welcome. Shifu is interested also in training teenagers to help work with the students and teach classes. Stop in on May 23 at 3:30 for a free kid's class or to speak with Shifu Martin about lessons. Classes are always held on Fridays at 3:30 for kids 5-13 and at 4:30 for adults 14 and up, at the Max Civic Center. The first class is always free at any time. Come and check it out this summer.

Wayne and Cindy Thompson of Max attended their son-in-law Matthew's graduation from UND School of Medicine at the Chester Fritz Auditorium on Sunday, May 11th. Matthew is married to Angie Thompson and they are the parents of little Noah. In June the family will be moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Matthew will be starting his 4 year residency in anesthesiology Congratulations to Matthew Voigt and his family.

Did you know - Max High School graduation will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 2:00 p.m.

The Max Over 55 Club appreciates the community's taking part in their French Toast Breakfast and also in this past week-end's Older American Day.
