Our community has lost a former longtime Max farmer. Curtis Wagner, who farmed east of Max, passed away in a Bismarck Hospital Sunday evening. He had been in ill health for several months. We extend our sympathy to his family and to his dear friends.
Last week Larry Oilund of California visited at Lila Fannik's and Lorna Sambor's homes in Max. Others visiting these homes were Margaret Scurlock, Phyllis Seay, Frances Spitanik all of Max and Ellie Richmond of Ryder. They all enjoyed the visits.
Larry stopped by the Spring Lake Church and visited some in the Douglas area. He went to Minot to see some of his cousins before leaving the area.
Reminder: Civic Club will be sponsoring a Grandparent's Day Breakfast at the Civic Center on Sunday, September 7, 2008. They will be serving from 9:30 to 12:30 pm.
The Sunnyslope Homemakers Club had an outing for their August meeting, this past Tuesday. They viewed the Wild Things Gallery in Minot and had lunch there.
Robert, Carolyn and Will Barden, along with Sarah and Angele Becker drove to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Robert's Father's funeral. They visited with Robert's family there and also with Harold and Virginia Sides. We extend our sympathy to Robert and his family in Max.
They then took Sarah and Angele to Savannah, Georgia to their home on the base there.
Next week is the first day of school in Max on Thursday. August 21st. Watch out for students walking to and from school. The Over 55 Club's August potluck will be held at 6 pm. the next day, Friday, August 22nd.
