Max News 03/16/2017


Max School Sports information for the week of March 20th – March 25th. Baseball practice will begin on Monday March 20th after school from 4:00-6:00.

This Friday March17th will be the 2nd storm make up day for Max Public School. FFA ND State winter judging competition will be in Minot Sunday & Monday March 19 &20. On Wednesday March 22nd, the school will have early dismissal at 1:30. On Friday March 24th ends the 3rd quarter.

 Max Library Partner’s annual meeting that was scheduled for March 7th was cancelled due to the weather and is rescheduled for Tuesday March 21st at 5:45pm in the library.

Julie McElwain has a sequel to her first novel coming in April. Max Community Library will once again host a book signing that will be held on Saturday April 15th at City Hall in Max starting at 10am. The library has ordered copies of her new novel A Twist in Time that will be available for purchase as the release date gets closer.

City hall will be having some remodeling done in the hallway of the building and the auditor’s office from March 15- March 25. This will include painting and new carpet, and the hall and auditor’s office will be closed during this process. The city employees will be prepping and painting and will have limited availability. Your patience will be appreciated during this process. Max Community Library will be closed on Tuesday March 21st for carpeting installation. This will not affect the food panty that will be held on Monday March 20.

This will be the second month for the food pantry at the Youth Center in the Civic Center on Main Street in Max.  The food pantry was previously at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. The food pantry is open this Monday March 20th from 1-3pm and 5-7 pm. 

We are officially one week away from spring starting on the calendar. After the new snow fall from this past weekend it may be some time before it will feel like spring.
